The Board of Pan African Strategic and Policy Research Group (PANAFSTRAG) announced the appointment of its youngest board member yet in the person of Evelyn Dan Epelle
Ms. Dan Epelle will serve on the board of the international think tank in capacity as Director of Global Communications and Digital Media. She joined the Board on 14th May 2022 to make up 14 board members.
This move is part of PANAFSTRAG’s goal to embrace technological and digital evolution led by a youth advocate. The board strives to stay relevant and to better deliver on its mandate to the African continent.
Ms. Dan Epelle’s ascent to the board can be said to be unprecedented as she has no prior Board experience nor is she in the traditional C-Suite pathway that leads to the Board. The Board, however, believes that her passion made bare in her writing, assertiveness, and depth of knowledge on digital infrastructure put her ahead of the times and will help her carve a strong digital media presence for PANAFSTRAG through her engagements, projects, and achievements.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Maj. Gen. Ishola Williams (rtd.) commented that “Ms. Dan Epelle is a person who is passionate, assertive, and concerned with an expanded horizon”.
She will represent the board on the continent and in the 6th region representing Africa’s diaspora.
As a young Nigerian lady with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from All Nations University Ghana (2015), a master’s degree in Communications, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University, Washington DC USA (2020), Ms. Dan Epelle is stellar in her cross-cultural training as a communications expert.
She currently leads the Library, Content, and Broadcast department of KAFTAN TV in its digital asset management, and serves as Catalyst at Baobab Consulting, an Africa-focused social impact firm based in New York. In 2020, she was named a Youth Fellow at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and shows great potential to succeed on the Board.
In her work as a broadcast journalist, Ms. Dan Epelle focuses on Public Policy development with a core communications research focus in the formation of virtual communities.
