Charles Muchineripi Mutama is a highly respected political leader and distinguished ambassador for the Experience Africa Event. With years of experience in politics and an impressive educational background, Mutama is a respected authority on matters of African development, indigenous capitalism, and positive neutrality in foreign policy.
Born in Zimbabwe, Mutama received his education at the University of Zimbabwe and later pursued a Master of Science in Information Technology from Capella University. He is a member of the Universal Negro Improvement Association African Communities League (Baltimore Division 106), and is inspired by Marcus Garvey and Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Mutama is the founder and leader of the Patriotic Zimbabweans Party, a center-right nationalist party whose pursuit is the deepening of Zimbabwe’s economic self-determination through the promotion of an indigenous capitalism that puts the interests of Zimbabweans first and global partners second. His vision is to achieve this through governance which combines modern democratic systems with Zimbabwe’s traditional leadership structure, which will allow the country to take control of its natural resources while mainstreaming devolution, which is enshrined in the country’s constitution. In addition, the Patriotic Zimbabweans Party promotes positive neutrality in foreign policy, and aims to utilize it to engage with other countries in this emerging multipolar world.
Mutama’s journey with the Experience Africa Event began when he was inspired to serve the continent as Marcus Garvey commanded, “up you mighty race and accomplish what you will.” As an ambassador for the Experience Africa Event, Mutama is a passionate champion for the cause of linking Africa with the African diaspora and creating opportunities for networking and partnership. He has spearheaded numerous exciting projects and initiatives to promote African tourism and business development, and is highly respected for his commitment to advancing African civilization through political engagement and participation.
Mutama’s work with the Patriotic Zimbabweans Party aligns perfectly with his role as an ambassador for the Experience Africa Event. From the name of his party, it is clear that Mutama and his party are patriotic to anything African and Zimbabwean. They are there to promote the interests of Africa in general and Zimbabwe in particular. By leveraging his extensive network and knowledge of African development, Mutama has been instrumental in ensuring the success of the Experience Africa Event and in linking African nations with their diaspora counterparts in the US.
Through his involvement with the Experience Africa Event, Mutama hopes to create opportunities for networking not only for himself, but for the entire diaspora, and to eventually create a win-win partnership between Africa and the USA. His vision is for a Zimbabwe which is economically self-determined through its reliance on its own finances and resources, and an Africa which is united and disregards the 1884 Berlin Conference borders. Mutama believes that political engagement and participation will contribute towards achieving this vision, and involvement in business will deepen that pursuit.
Despite the challenges he faces in his journey as a political leader and ambassador, Mutama remains steadfast in his dedication to his vision for Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole. He recognizes that the biggest challenge is to get the African diaspora, Zimbabweans, and global friends to understand the vision of advancing African civilization through participation in his party programs and making a commitment to be part of the Experience Africa Event. However, he remains undeterred, believing that his mission is worth pursuing and that his efforts will ultimately lead to the development and progress of the African continent.
Mutama’s advice to young people who aspire to make a positive impact in their communities is to read and understand the history of the continent and the world to best address their local needs, which are juxtaposed with what is happening in the geopolitical world. He recommends that young people read about Marcus Garvey, Booker T. Washington
