These are the results for the matches between the African countries that played for qualification to Morocco in 2025 from Thursday, 10th October 2024.

Ghana vs. Sudan

Ghana’s Black Stars were held to a 0-0 draw by Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium, leaving them with just two points from three games in Group F. Despite the team’s best efforts, they couldn’t break down Sudan’s resilient defense. While Ghana’s right-back Alidu Siedu was a standout player, delivering an impressive performance with timely tackles and strong interceptions, West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus shocked Ghanaians by missing a last-minute top chance that could have given Ghana the win.

Cape Verde vs. Botswana

In a shocking turn of events, Botswana pulled off a stunning 1-0 victory over Cape Verde in their AFCON 2025 Group C qualifier match on October 10, 2024.

The match played at the Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde in Praia, saw Botswana’s Tunisians Orebonye score the lone goal in the 2nd  minute. The midfielder’s clinical finish proved to be the difference-maker, as Cape Verde struggled to find the back of the net despite dominating possession.

Algeria vs Togo

The Desert Foxes of Algeria delivered a dominant performance, crushing Togo 5-1 in their AFCON 2025 Group E qualifier match on October 10, 2024. Algeria’s offensive firepower was on full display at the Stade Nelson Mandela in Algiers. Thilbault Klidje scored the first goal of the game in the 11th minute for Togo, and an equalizer from Said Benrahma brought the game to a 1-all score at halftime. Second-half goals from Algeria’s Said Benrahma, Houssem Aouar, Amine Gouiri, and Mohammed El Amine Amoura resulted in the game being a 5-1 win.

DR Congo vs Tanzania

The Leopards of DR Congo secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in their AFCON 2025 Group H qualifier match. In the highly contested match, played at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, Clement Mzize of Tanzania scored an own goal in the 53rd minute of the game.

Namibia vs Zimbabwe

The Warriors of Zimbabwe secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Namibia’s Brave Warriors in their AFCON 2025 Group J qualifier match. The closely contested match, played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek, saw Zimbabwe’s midfielder, Khama Billiat prove to be the difference-maker by scoring a 34th-minute goal from the penalty spot.

Burkina Faso vs Burundi

The Stallions of Burkina Faso delivered a dominant performance, defeating Burundi’s Swallows 4-1 in their AFCON 2025 Group L. Bienvenue Kanakimana gave Burundi the early lead in the 4th minute The Swallows struggled to contain Burkina Faso’s attacks and create scoring opportunities. Kanakimana’s goal provided brief hope, but Burkina Faso’s dominance soon resumed.

Madagascar vs Gambia

Madagascar and Gambia Share Spoils in Thrilling 1-1 Draw. The AFCON 2025 Group A qualifiers continued to deliver excitement as Madagascar and Gambia battled to a thrilling 1-1 draw at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina in Antananarivo. The match seemed destined for a Madagascar win until a dramatic late twist. The Barea took the lead through Thomas Couturier’s clinical finish in the 45th minute, just before halftime. Couturier’s strike sent the home crowd into raptures, and Madagascar dominated proceedings after that. However, Gambia’s determination paid off in the 90th minute when Yakubu Minteh equalized with a stunning strike. Minteh’s late goal stunned the Madagascar faithful, securing a vital point for the Scorpions.

The Comoros Islands vs Tunisia

The Comoros Islands national team pulled off a stunning 0-1 victory over Tunisia in their AFCON 2025 Group A qualifier match at the Stade Olympique de Radès in Tunis. In a shocking turn of events, Rafiki Saïd’s 63rd-minute goal proved to be the difference-maker. The Comoros striker’s clinical finish caught Tunisia’s defense off guard, and the visitors held on for a historic win. Comoros’ victory marks their first-ever win against Tunisia. Coach Stefano Cusin’s tactics paid off, as his team’s organization and determination secured a precious three points.

Gabon vs Lesotho

The AFCON 2025 Group B qualifiers continued with a tightly contested match between Gabon and Lesotho, ending in a 0-0 draw at the Stade de Franceville in Franceville. Both teams created scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize. Gabon’s Denis Bouanga and Lesotho’s Sera Motebang came closest to breaking the deadlock, but their efforts were thwarted by solid goalkeeping.

Egypt vs Mauritania

The Pharaohs of Egypt secured a 2-0 victory over Mauritania in their AFCON 2025 Group C qualifier match at the Cairo International Stadium.

Egypt dominated proceedings, with Mahmoud Trezequet breaking the deadlock in the 69th minute. Trezequet’s header from a precise cross by Omar Marmoush sent the home crowd into raptures. Mohammed Salah sealed the win with a stunning strike in the 79th minute, showcasing his trademark speed and skill. Salah’s goal capped an impressive performance, cementing Egypt’s position atop Group C.

Nigeria vs Libya

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Libya in their AFCON 2025 Group D qualifier. The highly contested match seemed destined for a goalless draw until Dele-Bashiru’s dramatic 86th-minute winner. The Nigerian midfielder’s clinical finish sent the home crowd into raptures, securing a crucial three points. The Super Eagles dominated possession, with forward Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze threatening Libya’s defense. Nigeria’s persistence paid off late on, as Dele-Bashiru’s strike proved decisive.

Côte d’Ivoire vs Sierra Leone

The Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Sierra Leone in their AFCON 2025 Group G qualifier match. Côte d’Ivoire took an early lead through Nicholas Pépé’s 3rd-minute strike, catching Sierra Leone’s defense off guard. However, the Leone Stars equalized just before halftime, courtesy of Koroma’s 43rd-minute goal. The Elephants regained control in the second half, with Franck Kessié converting penalties in the 51st and 76th minutes. Diakite sealed the win with another penalty in the 87th minute.

Senegal vs Malawi

The Lions of Teranga secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Malawi in their AFCON 2025 Group L qualifier match in Dakar. Senegal dominated proceedings, taking the lead through Pape Gueye’s 35th-minute strike. The Villareal midfielder’s powerful shot gave Malawi’s goalkeeper no chance. Sadio Mane doubled the lead in the 68th minute, showcasing his trademark speed and skill. Boulaye Dia added a third goal just three minutes later, sealing the win. Nicholas Jackson capped off the scoring with a 77th-minute goal, underlining Senegal’s attacking flair.
