The second day of the African Basketball Festival took place on October 26, 2024. Five thrilling matchups occurred at the University of Ghana Basketball court, with teams vying for supremacy and tournament standings.
The Africa Basketball Festival blended fashion and entertainment. Fashion designers exhibited their clothing and accessories with stunning models, and musical performances brought the audience to the edge of their seats.
Game 1: Liberia 46, Togo 42
Liberia edged Togo 46-42 in a closely contested opening game. Liberia’s James Kolubah led the charge with 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Togo’s Kossi Kouda scored 14 points.
Game 2: France 72, China 24
France dominated China 72-24, showcasing its offensive prowess. France’s Alexandre N’Gachen scored 18 points, and Lucas Rousseau added 16. Team France led both halves with wide gaps.
Game 3: China 22, USA 101
The USA cruised past China 101-22, demonstrating its strength. Ishmael scored 20 points, and Michael Williams added 18.
Game 4: Liberia 51, Nigeria 45
Liberia secured their second win, defeating Nigeria 51-45. The game was tied in the first half, but Liberia proved kings in the second half. Liberia’s Thomas Nyenswah scored 17 points, while Nigeria’s Ugochukwu Nwafor scored 15.
Game 5: Ghana 64, Nigeria 51
Ghana concluded Day 2 with a 64-51 victory over Nigeria. Ghana’s Samuel Owusu scored 12 points, and the current MVP, James Amotou, added 16 for Team Ghana.
Day 2 of the Africa Basketball Festival was eventful.
