YAIS 2025 promises to be bigger and bolder, with participants engaging in Innovation Labs, panel discussions, and cultural events. With a stellar lineup of speakers, thought-provoking conversations, and immersive networking opportunities, this year’s symposium is a call to action for the next generation of changemakers.

A Focus on Action, Not Just Talk
Unlike traditional conferences, YAIS is designed to move beyond conversations and create solutions. Central to the symposium are its Innovation Labs, where participants work alongside experts to tackle real-world challenges in fields such as technology, finance, agriculture, health, and economic transformation. Guided by thought leaders like Sitoyo Lopokoiyit (Technology), Nasim Devji (Finance), and Dr. Bamba Gaye (Health and Science), participants will collaborate to identify root causes, set project goals, and craft strategies that can be implemented in their businesses, organizations, and communities.

Dynamic Panels and Conversations
The 2025 YAIS features a diverse lineup of panels and discussions, including:

  • Voice of Africa: Guide to Powerful Public Speaking – Unlock the secrets of impactful communication and leadership.
  • Echoes of Africa: Storytelling as a Vehicle of Change – This panel will explore how storytelling across various media and industries can share Africa’s rich history, preserve its heritage, and serve as a powerful tool for education and advocacy.

  • Lunch Special: Ton Ton Talks – A lunchtime discussion led by seasoned African professors reflecting on their nations’ revolutions and the role of youth in shaping Africa’s future.

Cultural Celebration and Networking
YAIS 2025 is not just about innovation—it’s a celebration of Africa’s creativity and culture. Networking opportunities will abound at events like the Networking Social at Tsai CITY, where participants can connect with peers and industry leaders. The evening will culminate in a gala at the New Haven Omni Hotel, featuring an exclusive performance by Ghanaian music sensation King Promise, followed by an afterparty at Jazzy’s Cabaret.

A Legacy of Impact
Since its inception, YAIS has brought together students and professionals from prestigious institutions such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. Last year’s symposium featured speakers like the Assistant Director of the World Health Organization’s Africa office, leaving participants inspired to drive change in their communities. This year’s event builds on that legacy, focusing on equipping attendees with the tools and insights needed to innovate and make a lasting impact.
