At the 2025 Yale Africa Innovation Symposium, one voice electrified the room with clarity, passion, and purpose: Tina Charisma. A powerhouse from Ghana, Tina is not just an entrepreneur or global consultant—she’s a visionary reshaping how the world sees Africa.
As the founder of the Charisma Campaign, a global consultancy blending storytelling with strategy and innovation, Tina has worked with brands across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Her mission is bold: to amplify underrepresented voices, unlock access to global capital, and ensure African stories are told with authenticity, impact, and power.
“My work is global, cross-cultural, and deeply rooted in purpose,” she shared. “But at the core of everything I do is amplifying voices that deserve to be heard—voices that connect us as a global community.”
At the symposium, Tina led the Storytelling & Journalism Innovation Lab, an experience that transcended traditional workshops. She guided participants through an exploration of how narratives—both inherited and created—define identities, shape opportunity, and influence systems. “It’s not just about journalism. It’s about the stories we tell ourselves, and how those stories influence the way we move through the world.”
Her lab wasn’t just insightful—it was transformative. Drawing from her personal journey navigating elite media spaces like CNN, Harper’s Bazaar, and Business Insider, Tina offered raw, empowering insight into what it means to reclaim narrative power. “I’ve had to push back. I’ve had to say no to being pigeonholed. We have to own our stories. When we do, we speak with freedom, not permission.”
Tina praised the Yale Africa Innovation Symposium for its sharp focus on forward-thinking solutions. “What sets this conference apart is its dedication to innovation. Our parents’ stories were shaped by survival. Ours are stories of reinvention. And the next generation? They’re rewriting the script entirely. That’s why innovation isn’t optional—it’s foundational.”
When asked how platforms like Voice of Africa can contribute to reshaping global perceptions of the continent, Tina didn’t hesitate: “Ownership is everything. We need to own the platforms, the narratives, the quality of what we produce. That’s where true power lives—when we stop asking for space and start creating it.”
Though her career spans continents, Tina remains deeply connected to Ghana. While her trips home are often work-focused, she finds fulfillment in engaging with grassroots communities—far from the spotlight, close to the soul of the country. “I’m not in Ghana just for parties or photo ops. I go to connect—to understand. Sometimes I disappear into places where no one knows I’m around. That’s where the real stories live.”
Tina Charisma is more than a consultant or storyteller—she’s a cultural force, using narrative as a tool for liberation, innovation, and legacy. Her voice doesn’t just echo across continents—it sparks change, and invites a generation to reclaim its story on its own terms.
