Johannesburg, South Africa – June 2025 — The Supreme Audit Institutions 20 (SAI20) is one of the official engagement groups of the G20, bringing together the highest public auditing bodies (SAIs) from G20 member states. Its mission: to strengthen transparency, accountability, and public sector governance across the world.
Each year, the country holding the G20 Presidency also chairs the SAI20 group. In 2025, South Africa holds this honor and with it, Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke steps into a pivotal leadership role as Chair of SAI20. Under her leadership, the global SAI community is gathering in Johannesburg from 23–26 June 2025 for the landmark SAI20 Summit, where heads of national audit institutions will align on sustainable development goals (SDGs), public finance priorities, and the global G20 agenda.
In this historic moment, The Voice of Africa (TVOA) has been named the official media partner for the SAI20 South Africa 2025 Summit.
📰 What is SAI20?
SAI20 is a platform for the Supreme Audit Institutions of G20 countries to collaborate, share insights, and shape global policy discussions by strengthening accountability in government spending, sustainable development, and crisis response. Through technical exchanges, policy papers, and a culminating SAI20 Communiqué, member states commit to concrete actions that enhance governance around climate change, health systems, economic resilience, and digital transformation.
SAI20 also tracks the implementation of G20 commitments and monitors their impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s summit theme — “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability” — reflects the shared vision to build responsive, transparent, and future-proof public institutions.
