The Voice of Africa (TVOA) proudly announces that its founder and CEO, Kadmiel Van Der Puije, has been selected as a delegate for the 2025 World Bank Group Youth Summit—a highly competitive and globally recognized platform that brings together top youth leaders, innovators, and changemakers shaping the future of development.

Each year, the World Bank Group Youth Summit receives thousands of applications from across the globe, selecting only a small percentage of outstanding individuals who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and a commitment to social impact. Kadmiel’s selection is a powerful testament to his work advancing youth empowerment, media influence, and economic development across Africa and the diaspora.

A Global Platform for Youth-Driven Solutions

This year’s summit, under the theme “New Horizons: Youth-Led Innovation for a Livable Planet,” will spotlight transformative ideas across three key areas:

  1. Digital Transformation & Data: How youth are using AI, big data, and emerging technologies to create inclusive growth and modern labor markets.

  2. Food Security & Green Agriculture: Exploring how innovations like IoT, renewable energy, and digital tools are revolutionizing sustainable food systems.

  3. Creative Industries: Recognizing the impact of media, fashion, and arts in driving employment, preserving heritage, and reshaping economies.

The summit also emphasizes innovation from underserved populations, fragile and conflict-affected settings, and the power of cross-sector partnerships—all vital to scaling youth-led impact globally.

With over 85% of the world’s youth living in low- and middle-income countries, and nearly 800 million at risk of exclusion from future job markets, the Youth Summit provides a timely and urgent space for reimagining inclusive development through the eyes of those most affected.

The Voice of Africa Will Deliver Dynamic Media Coverage

While serving as a delegate, Kadmiel will also lead The Voice of Africa’s media team to provide comprehensive coverage of the summit. TVOA will highlight the work of youth delegates from across the globe—especially spotlighting voices from Africa and the diaspora.

TVOA’s media coverage will include:

  • Exclusive interviews with youth leaders, policymakers, and innovators

  • Real-time updates and thematic highlights from panel discussions and workshops

  • Spotlight segments on African-led innovations and creative solutions

  • Behind-the-scenes storytelling capturing the energy and impact of the summit

By documenting and sharing these powerful narratives, TVOA aims to extend the summit’s impact far beyond Washington, DC—bringing global development dialogues into homes, classrooms, and communities across the African continent and diaspora.

Africa’s Voice at the Forefront

From platforms like the United Nations, Yale University and Duke University and Johns Hopkins SAIS to engagements with the IMF and now the World Bank, Kadmiel’s leadership continues to expand Africa’s presence in international policy, economic discourse, and cultural diplomacy.

“This isn’t just about showing up—it’s about showing the world what African youth are capable of when given the space to lead,” said Kadmiel. “I’m honored to represent our people and equally proud that The Voice of Africa will document and broadcast these global conversations through an African lens.”
