Libya and Saudi Arabia have taken fresh steps toward strengthening their energy relationship, following talks between Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdulsadek, and Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, in Riyadh.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation across a wide range of energy fields, including conventional oil and gas, renewable energy, and modern energy technologies. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging technical expertise and developing innovative solutions that could support long-term energy security and sustainable growth.

According to officials, discussions explored opportunities for joint projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency, with the goal of diversifying energy sources and reducing environmental impact. The two ministers also highlighted the role of investment in accelerating these initiatives and strengthening institutional coordination between the two countries.

For Libya, the talks come at a time when the country is seeking to modernize its energy sector and attract international partnerships that can help stabilize production while preparing for future energy transitions. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, continues to position itself as a regional leader in both traditional energy markets and emerging clean technologies.

The dialogue reflects a broader regional trend toward energy diversification, where oil-producing countries are increasingly investing in renewable infrastructure and cross-border cooperation. Officials from both sides described the meeting as a step toward building a more integrated and future-oriented energy partnership.
