2021 is the second year of roads – President Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared that his second term of office as president of Ghana, will be themed as “the second year of roads”, to make all the roads in Ghana safe to ride on.

He made this statement during his inaugural speech of his investiture held at the Parliament House on 7th January 2021, at 12 noon.

He said the numerous construction of roads that was constructed lastlast year will continue in his second term of office.

Speaking at his second term inauguration, President Akufo-Addo said 2021 will be the second year of roads.

“Last year was the year for construction of roads, this year is another year for road construction”, he said.

In the year 2020, the President declared it as a ‘Year of Roads’. Speaking at a media encounter in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said roads are critical in the development of any nation and that the development of the much-touted roads under the previous administration was untrue.

President Akufo-Addo finally called for a united front by seeking the support of Ghanaians to join in the business of developing our country, Ghana. 

The investiture was a very colourful ceremony grace by 13 Heads of States from different countries except that it was boycotted by the opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).
