Dubai Sports Council has positioned itself as one of the most advanced and strategically managed sports authorities globally. Established by decree of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Council is the official government body responsible for developing, regulating, and advancing the sports sector in Dubai.

Under the leadership of Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Council has transformed Dubai into a global destination for sports excellence. It oversees a comprehensive ecosystem that includes government clubs, private academies, international events, and high-performance talent systems.

Dubai now hosts more than 450 sporting events annually, ranging from global championships to grassroots competitions. Through initiatives such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award and the Dubai Model for Sports Excellence, the Council has embedded innovation, governance, and performance into every layer of the sector.

This is not simply sports development.

It is sports as infrastructure—driving tourism, investment, diplomacy, and global influence.

Sports as a Core Driver of UAE Vision 2031

The Dubai Sports Council’s strategy aligns directly with the UAE’s Vision 2031 framework.

Through the Forward Society pillar, sports promotes health, community wellbeing, and national engagement. Under Forward Economy, it contributes to tourism, events, and investment flows. Through Forward Diplomacy, international competitions and partnerships position Dubai as a global convening hub. The Forward Ecosystem pillar is reinforced through innovation in sports science, data, media, and infrastructure.

Dubai has effectively positioned sports as a multi-sector growth engine.

Africa’s Sports Potential: Talent at Scale, Systems in Progress

Africa represents one of the most significant untapped sports markets globally.

The continent is home to some of the world’s most talented athletes across football, athletics, basketball, and emerging sports. However, while talent is abundant, access to structured systems, global exposure, and professional pathways remains limited in many regions.

This creates a clear opportunity.

Dubai has built a system that develops, manages, and globalizes sports excellence. Africa represents a market where this system can be extended—unlocking talent while creating new economic, cultural, and diplomatic pathways.

The opportunity is not only about athletes.

It is about building a global sports corridor.

The Strategic Bridge: The Voice of Africa (TVOA)

The Voice of Africa (TVOA), led by Kadmiel Van Der Puije, operates as a multi-platform ecosystem connecting Africa to global markets across sports, media, tourism, and youth development.

This positioning has received international recognition. Kadmiel was named a “Misk 20 Under 30” honoree by the Misk Foundation, highlighting his role in advancing global youth and cross-regional engagement.

TVOA’s strength lies in its ability to translate African potential into structured opportunities, while enabling institutions to engage the continent through credible platforms.

In the context of sports, this bridge is critical.
