A historic coalition of Black parliamentary leaders from across the United States, Europe, and beyond has issued a unified statement backing the work of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, marking a significant moment in global political alignment around racial justice and equity.
The joint declaration, led by the Congressional Black Caucus under Chair Yvette D. Clarke, represents what organizers describe as a first-of-its-kind collaboration—bringing together Black lawmakers across continents under a shared agenda of advancing justice, dignity, and opportunity for people of African descent.

Delivered ahead of the Forum’s Fifth Session in Geneva, the statement underscores a growing transnational movement among Black political leaders to coordinate policy, advocacy, and legislative action.
