Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has completed a record-breaking transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray, with the deal reportedly valued at €75 million, making it the highest transfer fee ever paid in Turkish Süper Lig history  . This sum significantly surpasses the previous record held by Fenerbahçe for the signing of Youssef En‑Nesyri, which was around €20 million  .

The contract binds Osimhen to Galatasaray for four seasons, commencing with the 2025–2026 campaign, and guarantees him a net salary of €15 million per year. Additionally, he will receive a €1 million loyalty bonus annually and €5 million in image rights income.

Financial terms include an initial payment of €40 million, followed by €35 million in installments through 2026, as well as a 10% sell-on clause entitling Napoli to a portion of any future transfer profit. The agreement reportedly also includes a clause preventing a transfer to another Italian club for the next two years  .

Last season’s loan spell at Galatasaray was a spectacular success. Osimhen scored 37 goals and delivered eight assists in 41 appearances, driving the club to a domestic league and cup double. He also emerged as the Turkish Süper Lig’s leading scorer and set a new record for most goals in a single season by a foreign player  .

Osimhen’s homecoming to Istanbul was met with widespread enthusiasm from fans, who welcomed him at the airport alongside club officials, his agent, and family. He is scheduled to undergo a medical and will be officially presented, together with Leroy Sané, before Galatasaray’s upcoming friendly match against Lazio at Rams Park Stadium  .

This landmark transfer underscores Galatasaray’s ambition to cement its position on both domestic and European stages. By investing heavily in a top-tier global talent, the club signals its intent to transform the Turkish Süper Lig into a compelling destination for elite players  .

Osimhen’s move not only reshapes the financial landscape of Turkish football but also empowers Galatasaray to elevate its competitive profile, deploying bold strategy to meet Europe’s standards both on and off the pitch
