At the United Nations General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a lengthy and impassioned speech that took aim at global institutions, environmental initiatives, and Europe’s immigration policies. Speaking for nearly an hour, Trump sharply criticized what he described as misguided international priorities that threaten economic stability and cultural identity.

Climate Change and Global Governance

In one of the most striking portions of his address, Trump dismissed international climate change efforts, branding them a “deceptive green agenda” that, in his words, has harmed global economies rather than saved them. He argued that predictions made by the UN and other environmental advocates have repeatedly failed and accused them of promoting policies that place ideology above practical economic needs.

“If nations don’t break away from this so-called green scam, they will be setting themselves up for failure,” he declared. His comments underscored his long-standing opposition to multilateral climate agreements, which he has consistently described as unfair to American workers and industries.

Europe’s “Twin Crises”

The U.S. president also directed sharp criticism toward Europe, warning against what he called the “double threat” of mass immigration and aggressive energy transition policies. While expressing admiration for Europe’s history and culture, Trump cautioned that political decisions on open borders and renewable energy were weakening the continent.

“You’re doing this because you think it’s the right thing to do, but in the process you’re eroding your heritage and security,” he said. He framed Europe’s immigration policies as part of a “globalist agenda,” arguing that they have contributed to social instability and placed heavy financial strain on governments.

Warning to Allies

Trump’s address carried a clear message: countries must take stronger action to defend their sovereignty, control migration, and reassess energy strategies. He warned European leaders that failure to act decisively could result in lasting economic setbacks and a dilution of national identity.

His remarks reflected a broader theme of nationalism and skepticism toward multilateral institutions, reinforcing his administration’s position that global organizations should not dictate domestic policy.
